6 Reasons to Fort It

Hi, I plan on building an indoor fort this summer and spending a lot of my time there. These are the reasons why:

1. “Lost and Found:” When my roommate has no idea where I am. She’s looked in my room and under the couch and screamed my name, she will glance at the fort and just know that I’m in fort-land. Safe and sound. (source)

2. “Romance:” I couldn’t think of a better date than in a fort. (source)

3. “Social Gatherings:” I can invite friends over for tea in my magical fort. (source)

4. “Me time:” When I want to read or daydream or nap or wear a ball-gown for no reason, I can do all those things in my fort. (source)

5. “Camping Alternatives:” When camp sites are filled because of summer near… No fear! My fort is here! (source)

6. “Cuddle puddles:” Instant snuggle parties! (source)

Boom. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Getting Down to Bidness

Wait! When did May come? I’m so confused. Time has been moving too fast. I guess that’s what Spring is all about, ey?

Well, I’ve been spending a lot of time sort of refreshing myself on a bunch of things. This means cleansing, reorganizing and reevaluating. All on both a personal and professional level. Today, I started working on my business cards. I’m pretty happy with the logo and look I have going already through my website but my card stock was running low so I decided to play around a bit. Of course I needed some inspiration. I have such crush on graphic design and print. I secretly want to go back to school and get a graphic design degree. Who knows, I might jump on that sooner than later.

Hiatus Over…

Hi my blog lovers. I’ve been in Hawaii… Can we just sink into that for a minute.

Sigh… It really did feel like heaven.

Ok but now I’m back and I’m having an art show tomorrow. Yikes!

It’s going to be a fun evening at the Swift Street Courtyard. Between the Brewery, Sawyer Land & Sea and the yoga studio, it’s going to be our very own block party!

Spring Weekend DIYs

I can’t explain to you how much I love Spring time. I notice everything around me blossoming, people coming out of their caves and creativity is at its peak. So how about some fun diy projects to kickstart your weekend?
Let’s break it down, shall we?

We all have these white plain mugs so why not add some pizazz?

I definitely am vibing on this cork-board. I’m always a fan of a simple geometric.

There’s no way I’m going to do a diy post without chalk paint. This ones pretty cute.

So this one is actually a link to an Etsy item but it definitely is a good starting point for an awesome diy project. Only thing is that if you have the time to hunt for some vintage spoons, you’re set but it can easily be done without them being vintage.

I’ve had these weird obsession with flowers lately.

Yea, ladders are amazing. I use mine to hold my scarves but I am liking the necklace display.

Lining drawers is one of the sweetest ways to spruce up a piece of furniture. I’m digging the vintage feel of the distressed paint with the cute lining.

Garlands are kind of a big deal lately but these feathers are a bigger deal to me. Dipped in gold- can it get any better?

There are so many ways to display beach finds but my favorite part of this one is the paper in the background.
