Faux Christmas Tree

I’ll tell ya a funny story. A few weeks ago, I came up with what sounded like a brilliant idea and everyone else looked at me in confusion of course. But then I saw my idea come to life! Faux Christmas tree!! My idea was that, since I live in a house with a bunch of artists, that we would create a faux christmas tree wall with all of our art in the shape of a christmas tree. Well, now I’ll show them! Look at all these cool faux christmas tree ideas I found!!! So excited!

Yup.

Holiday Decor

I get so excited seeing people put their christmas lights up and decorate their home! It always puts me in the greatest mood. Check out some of the fun decor for this holiday season.

Yo, there’s a reindeer in the dining room.

Keep it simple.

Branches can never do me wrong.

Stay natural.

Dude, a snowman out of globes. Love you, Emily Henderson.

The Loo

The loo, the laboratory, the restroom, the sh*tter, the washroom, el bano. Whatever you wanna call it, let’s talk about it. Why not make the space where you spend your time freshening up beautiful?

How beautiful is that? I love the shower curtain, but might be a tough one to score if your living with a man.

This is heaven. Draw a bath, get some good reads and get cozy with some tea or coffee. Yes, please!

Stickin with the beige.

Hey color! I love this more vintage looking bathroom.

Ya, it’s pink. But its still cute.

Nice DIY wallpaper right there.

If you haven’t caught on yet, I am a big fan of dark walls and I think this bathroom looks so fresh with the contrasting colors.

And then there was white.

Another favorite. Rustic, clean, dark walls, light accents.

Feng Shui Bathroom Tips:

  • make sure your plumbing is always working right. Think about your plumbing like your body. When things are flowing right or things gets caught in certain areas creating blockages, then you risk getting sick.
  • bathrooms should not be located in the center of the house because this is the area where energy gathers and radiates out and we do not want something there that could drain it.
  • bathrooms should be 2/5 yin and 3/5 yang. What does this mean? Well, yin is a calmer more inactive energy and yang is active and energizing so find that balance where the space is soft yet bright.
  • keep toilet lids down to avoid draining energy when not in use

Yellow & Grey

Guess what guys? It’s only Tuesday. Damn. Well, lets get through it together with some yellow & grey inspirations shall we?!

I’ll start off by saying that I’m not a big fan of yellow walls. Grey walls, always. Yellow, not so much. But I love the yellow & grey combo for design and decoration. So check out some awesome images I found that inspire my yellow & grey craving:

This image came from one of my favorite diy headboards of all of history (the wood planks with painted “love” on it) click

That sink is great. Who has a yellow sink? click

A bit more muted but same color scheme. The color on the walls was actually my inspiration for the color I painted my bedroom walls. click

What’s up funky sofa? click

A nursery, especially for those that like to keep it gender neutral. click

No one said fuchsia would be here!! But hey, it could work. click

A bit of a retro throwback. I like the painting too.

All you need is one little yellow accent. How cute is that chair? click

Ok this is mainly yellow, but it was in one of my happy picture files so I had to share.  click

Etsy, etsy! And its with one of my favorite patterns, chevron. click

kfd designs, she rocks the house.

And these are my sweet Etsy print finds. click

You REALLY are my very favorite person ;)  click

I’m feeling a DIY coming along… click

Feng Shui tip: Yellow is the color that represents Earth. So when you hear a Feng Shui practitioner tell you to cure the room with Earth (which everyone should have a Feng Shui practitioner telling them something), yellow would be the color you could use. The Earth element is all about grounding. The shape is square. Of course the color yellow is known to be a happy color so it’s already got an energy quality to it. Although I will say that overwhelming amounts of yellow can be, well, really overwhelming so be easy with the application.
